I said I was going to do a weekly Pigment Application post... Obviously, I lied... With my current hectic schedule, I can only squeeze in a post every now and then as I don't want to do a sloppy job just to fill in my blog... (Maybe that sounds too lame?)
Anyway, I am sharing my experience of MAC Pigment Apricot Pink in this post. I hope some of you find it helpful.
MAC Pigment Apricot Pink
Wet Application - mixed with water
There is not much difference between wet and dry application. The colour look about the same with the texture slightly smoother when used wet. I am not sure why this colour is named Apricot Pink? There is not a bit of resemblance between this shade and an apricot in my honest opinion. This is a cool, shimmery pale pink as far as I can see.
Nevertheless, this is a very refreshing colour on me. I am neutral to warm and I can wear it despite of it's being cool. I am also fond of its effect on my cheeks as a blush. It's very shimmery but with a light hand and a skunk brush, it is a fairy light blushed from within colour. Trust me, it's nothing scary at all. This is a FOTD I did with Apricot Pink used as an eye shadow and a blush. I should have used it on my lips too as it's such a complimenting shade on my medium pigmented lips. (I guess I just forgot about it that day...) Therefore, I mixed it with QV Lip Blam SPF 20 and applied it on my bare lips just to show you how it looks like as a lip gloss (on a separate picture.)
FOTD - with flash under tungsten lights

FOTD - with flash under natural daylight

As a lip gloss - mixed with QV Lip Balm SPF 20
I normally apply Pigment Glosses with my fingers, not a brush. If there is a colour that I really like, I'd whip up a wee bit more and put it in a tiny jar so I can use it whenever I feel like it. However, the most common practice for me is to tote a small sample jar and my QV Lip Balm in my bag so I can reapply it as I go. Why? Honestly, I often just reapply with the clear Lip Balm instead of a coloured gloss. Blame it on laziness!

It's certainly a practical Pigment for traveling as I can use it in many forms. This is not an outstanding striking colour but rather a simple pale pastel cool pink that can be easily worn without worrying about over doing the makeup. One thing though, I find it's best to use Apricot Pink with another deeper shade if using it as an eye shadow. I tried to use it solo but it didn't have that Ah... effect. It was a tad flat by itself on my eyelids even though it's well pigmented. Other than that glitch, it's a pretty colour on my cheeks and lips for sure. I am even tempted to try it on my nails but I haven't since I hardly do my nails...
PS: I read on some UK sites that this is a Pro colour but others didn't indicate so. Therefore, I have given up on checking whether a MAC Pigment being a Pro or Regular shade as MAC often re-releases its products. It's just too confusing and time-consuming... Of course, if I really know that's a Pro colour, I'd still state it. :)

very pretty.. i never knew that you could use it as a blush lippie and for lips.. it's really a multipurpose makeup.. very nice color and pigmentation..
it looks great as a lippie! the frost really comes up. Great tips :) The color's more sheer on the eyes
Connie: I should have mentioned that I purposely apply it lightly on my eyelids as it's a day look and I think a cool pink like this should be sheered out as I am on the warm side. :) It's a very pigmented shimmery colour otherwise!
donnarence: My rule is unless a Pigment is stated not eye/lip safe, I'd use it on both if the colour looks like OK for those areas. :P
I think Pigments are most useful in all coloured makeup. You can play with them up or down, anyway you like.
wow, thanks! i seldom use pigments as I don't like to use it on clients and have it scatter all around, I know, I need to foil it lol can you blame the girl for being lazy :P
so pretty and ethereal! You can put dirt on your face and you would still look beautiful! :-)
Oh wow - it actually does look fabulous as a blush on you! I would never have tried. So pretty though!
Askmewhats: I would be scared to use pigments on clients too! imagine the mistakes and how they frightened they would be and lose confidence in our skills instantly! NOPE, this is for SELF-APPLICATION ONLY for sure! :)
Catherine: I use pigments any way and every way possible unless it's stated unsafe for certain body parts.:P
Olivia: Just wait till I really put dirt on me. :P
I really prefer Paricot Pink as lip color than eyeshadow... hahaha Pink seldom works for me..
You look absolutely STUNNING! I love the pigment color and how you used it in so many different ways!
