I decided to park my car in a different section when I went to Shu Uemura Bouquite in One Utama on Friday morning. I came up to the newest addition of the mall and found myself staring at Etude House. I couldn't believe my eyes!!! "Isn't this the Korean brand I kept reading about on Lotus Palace?", I was wondering in the back of my mind. I just had to go in there to check it out myself. Shu could wait, it wouldn't disappear anyway!

A most friendly sales girl by the name of Jasmine came to my aide while I was toying with the cute Peach Cheek Blushers, of which I accidentally dropped a couple of times and spilled powder all over the floor, which had just be cleaned before the store opened... And she was all smile and said it's all right. So I braved up and asked her a couple of questions. It turned out, the boutique had just opened for a week then. (She didn't mention if there was another store elsewhere.) I told her that I'd like to write about this brand on my beauty blog and if it's possible to photograph the store. She didn't doubt me one bit and said, "Sure!"
I began snapping away in the shop. Its setup was just like a doll house!!! It's PINK everywhere!!! I really felt like I was a little princess playing in my room full of makeup. Every corner I turned to, there was something interesting. This shop reminds me of The Skin Food but a lot more dainty, sweet and warm. It made me want to stay!

And I saw the famous Etude BB Cream! I didn't know a thing about BB Cream but the fact that I saw it there was just exciting. Silly me. There was this little girl in me that's making me go oh, and ah...
I was told the BB Magic Cream is a Sunscreen. Hmmm. It's 49.90MYR / 13.9695 USD a tube.

I was very surprised to read about the price tags on the items. They are really drugstore cheap!!! The Anna Sui lookalike eye shadows, Petit Daring Eyes were only 9.90MYR / 2.74318 USD each! But those are not on the site. Not sure if they are new or very old stuff???!!! (My gut feeling told me the are very old as the Eye Secret is 18.50MYR /5.13554 USD each...) I need to go back there to check out its products in details! I was short of time that day.
PS: Kathi just replied that these Petit Daring Eyes should be new products!!! Please refer to the reply. Thank you, Kathi! I thought they were old because they were so cheap! Ha!

I even checked out the things I normally don't bother like nail colours, skin care and etc. They were all too cute. I think I forgot to snatch a picture of their brush collection. They had quite a wide selection there. (I was lost looking at all the skin care stuff. There were so many things that I didn't know about!)

And this was the only gift set in the entire shop, believe it or not. Etude House seems to concentrate on individual products rather than sets like many other brands... I kind of like that. :)

This brand strikes me of a very youthful look. Its makeup may not be for my age group but there are skin care products and tools that worth checking out. However, I still have my eyes on the cute Peach Cheek Blushers even though they totally look like little kids' toy stamps. I will talk about those soon.
By the way, if any of the local girls are wondering where the store is. It's tucked away at far left corner in front of Cold Storage on the lower ground floor of One Utama new wing, where used to be part of Giant Supermarket. (Phone No: 03 77285180) If you do go there, you'd see Kiehl's too! Yup, we are getting a Kiehl's Boutique there as well! I no longer have to go to Pavilion in town! Yay! This year has started off a very fresh way! I am letting go of my attachment to Chanel (for a while) and trying new stuff soon!

Jojoba, lucky you to find an Etude House store! It looks like the epitome of cute...
Did you swatch anything?
You're soo lcuky!! I'd love to play there, hahaha.
birkinbagbeauty: Of course I did! But only the blush stamps. I will review them soon. (I kept dropping them off the shelf that i didn't want to try more stuff as i worried I broke more things!)
fuzkittie: I think Etude may be in Taiwan too? No? I think this brand is so you!
I love the photos!!!! You're right, it does remind me of Skin Food and The Face shop but way GIRLY and better! :D
I love how beautiful most Etude House stores are!! It's really like a doll house ya?
But i have no idea that this brand is so cheap!! I checked this out in Bangkok actually, and the prices are quite steep over there!! :D
Thanks so much for this post! I really enjoyed seeing an Etude House store on such clear good pics! It's really too cute!
I think the Petite Darling Eyes are rather new, their older style shadows (clear compacts and flip top packaging) was just discontinued maybe less than a year ago! I think they just offer 2 varieties of single shadows =D
Askmewhats: I almost forgot about THEFACESHOP. I feel it's very cold (the layout.)
jenn: I had no idea that it's nto cheap in thailand. it's been ages since I last visited there. so I must grab the opportunity to see what to try!
Kathi: Well. what do I know???!!! i should have asked you before posting this! LOL. thank you so much! I though the cheaper price meant they were super old. I like the idea that we are getting fresh new stuff1 yay!
You are right about the "COLD' part, even some of the staffs down here are downright "cold" too, example: "no picture taking! (and we're not even taking photos of the product, we're taking photos of each other purchasing!" and we're like why? and they say: "Headquarter rule" and my friend bought like almost $100 worth of products there! darn them! LOL
Sorry just had to vent it out hahahhahah
Askmewhats: I am totally speechless! That's plain nuts!
Yup! and my blogger friend had to photoshop the background just so "The Face Shop" background won't be seen, and I was like "we'll just photoshop it and put SKINFOOD at the back" lol the SA didn't comment! LOL It's just this branch though, the other Face Shop branch are super nice and courteous!
Askmewhats: If that was me, it would be the last time I stepped into that shop.
I agree with you on the friendly workers in The Face Shop. The girls there are friendly just like Etude's.
wow oh wow!! the decor looks lovely! any idea how much is the bb cream? might have to get my paws *ahem, hands i mean* on it soon! :D
daphne: Not sur why I missed out the price. I just updated the review. It's 49.90MYR a tube. The girl told me it's a sunscreen. I am a bit confused to be honest.
WOW WOW WOW!!!
I wish we had one of these doll houses in London!! *sigh*
wow, that store is sooo cute! I wish we had one here too.
Nice pics - I actually disliked the Petit Darling eyeshadow singles and I prefer the Eye Secret which I reviewed a while ago. Its sheer (not your cuppa tea I think) but I liked it :)
Glow Chaser: I am sure you have other interesting brands there. For instance, you have Barry M (minus the doll house.) :P
gio: Yup every girl needs a doll house to play with! I never had one but now I have the makeup version. Ha!
ParisB: Because of your post, I went to check with both. And you were right. I prefer Petit Darling Eyes! HAHAHAHA. I missed your post back then and I am just catching up! How did I miss it???!!! So blind! So behind time!
Googled Etude House. They don't have one in Penang yet.
*cry*
Yeap.....I bought a Anna Sui lookalike box for only Rm19.90 @ Etude House JB City Square
Glad to see this lovely brand arrive on Msia ;)

Etude House Precious Mineral BB Cream is the best BB cream i have ever used
Precious Mineral BB Cream you said? I nearly bought the Skin Food Mushroom BB cream the other day but I thought the colour was not a good match. The kind sales assistant gave me a sample to try. I will do that and check out Etude House's the next!
Thank you!
hey jojoba, i just ventured into Etude house in Time Square and they are having 10% discount for the precious BB cream, 30% discount for all their skincare and 40% discont for all the accessories. I bought the BB cream, bubble peeling, stand mirror, oil blotting paper and pore cleaning silicon pad.
jarjar: Thank you so much for this update. I am going to post it on My Memo so hopefully it benefits other local members too.
What would I do without my readers!!!
Hugs!
